We made it official in October–Dublin Food Pantry moved into its first permanent facility, located at 6608 Dublin Center Drive. And what happened? We drew record crowds and are already on pace for another busy year in 2024. But that was the point!
Here are a few numbers to illustrate the success of our new venture:
1. Pantry Visits
In 2019, Dublin Food Pantry distributed food for 3,766 pantry visits. That’s like a grocery store handling 3,766 shoppers at checkout. In 2022, that number jumped to 7,963. And 2023? How about over 11,000 pantry visits.
2. Unique Households Served
Again, the rise in these figures is drastic, to say the least. In 2019, 825 unique households shopped at Dublin Food Pantry. 2023 saw a jaw-dropping increase to 2,744 unique households.
3. Amount of Food Distributed
Once again, 2023 blew the roof off our previous record high numbers for service. In 2019, we distributed enough food to replace about 146,000 meals that our neighbors would have missed or skipped. In 2023, that number skyrocketed to 624,428. That’s a fourfold increase from pre-pandemic totals.
Here’s a Dublin Food Pantry Fun Fact: our average household visits the pantry just 4 to 5 times per year. That’s despite being eligible to shop two times per month, or 24 times per year. We are truly an emergency service, and customers only rely on us when they absolutely need us most.
Thank you for helping us be there for them!!!
