Thank You For A Summer of Giving

Thank you, Dublin community for a summer of giving.

“One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn’t as individuals. When we pool our strengths and share the work and responsibility, we can welcome many people, even those in deep distress, and perhaps help them find self-confidence and inner healing.”

 – Jean Vanier

October is quickly approaching, and the grand opening of our new pantry location is in our sights. It’s been a long road, and we recognize the important role that everyone in our community played in helping us achieve this milestone.  Because of our Dublin community’s outpouring of love and support, we are able to share the work and responsibility of feeding our neighbors in need.

This summer, the Dublin Food Pantry has been sustained by acts of charity large and small. From the large, annual community gatherings such as the Dublin Irish Festival and Fourth of July Parade celebrations to the everyday acts of kindness like donating Kroger rewards and children’s lemonade stands, we would like to extend our warmest thank you to all who donated and supported the pantry over the last few months.

Here are just a few of our summer highlights:

The Luck of the Dublin Irish Festival

Earlier this month, we were the proud beneficiary of the Dublin Irish Festival. Sunday morning, we were amazed to see the line of individuals and families lined up around the block with bags of food donations – we could barely keep up!

The three-day weekend yielded over 20,336 lbs – a new record – of food and supplies that will help stock our shelves for months to come. We also received a large sum of monetary donations from all gates and water sales throughout the event.

Fourth of July

Although hunger does not take a holiday, neither does Dublin. Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and to the Dublin Vet Clinic and Starbucks for welcoming our volunteers and helping us collect our most-needed items during this weekend.

52-Week Challenge – Accepted!

This summer, several Dublin businesses and organizations stepped up to the plate, hosting food drives, block parties, discounts, and various other opportunities to give to the pantry, including Dublin Jerome, Joyland Preschool, Solaire Sun Spray, Black Dog Pizzaria, Miracle League Of Central Ohio, Goldfish Swim School, Acton Academy Columbus, Fukuryu Ramen, and Balanced Family Academy.

Thank you for accepting the #52WeekChallenge and joining together to #feeddublin.

Small Acts For Big Benefits

As much as we love to celebrate significant victories at the Dublin Food Pantry, we never underestimate the power of small acts of giving. Together our small acts add up and inspire others.

Thank you to all who have shared Kroger rewards, hosted a lemonade stand, provided aid following the Hilliard Food Pantry disaster, donated items to our Amazon Wishlist, shared our social media posts, or supported our efforts in any way this summer. Small actions do not go unnoticed!

We look forward to an eventful Fall and hope you can join us at our inaugural Bounty at Bridge Park event on September 17th or our new pantry Grand Opening this October (details to come).
