Dear Friends,
I know I often say this — and maybe it sounds repetitive — but each time I sit down to write to you, I am genuinely humbled and filled with gratitude. The outpouring of support from our Dublin community continues to amaze me. Thanks to your generosity, our pantry is able to open its doors every day to those who need a little extra help — and it’s making a real difference.
Today, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! As we gear up to open our Spring garden, I’m proud to announce that the Dublin Food Pantry’s Master Gardener Program has been awarded a Community Garden Grant from The Columbus Foundation.
A huge congratulations to Dana Kromer, Carolyn Abood, and their incredible team of Master Gardeners. Their dedication has helped grow our OhioHealth Sustainable Garden, which supplied 619 pounds of fresh produce last year. This grant will allow us to expand even further and continue providing healthy, homegrown food for our neighbors.
We also have a wonderful partnership opportunity coming up. On May 5, 2025, from 4:45–6:45 p.m., we’ll be teaming up with The Justice Mobile. Legal attorneys will be available on-site to help our clients navigate concerns or answer commonly asked legal questions. It’s another way we’re working to support the whole person — not just their immediate needs.
Below, you’ll find a few highlights that show the impact we are making together. As always, thank you for being such an important part of this journey. We couldn’t do it without you.
With gratitude,
Julie

Partnerships make things HAPPEN with our “Food Is Medicine” Program
The Dublin Food Pantry is working with a variety of organizations to creatively support students experiencing food insecurity in Dublin during the school year and summer break.

We recently conducted two Pop Up Food Pantries this Spring in collaboration with the Dublin Methodist Hospital’s Family Medicine Residency Program. In support of this effort, Feed the Kids Columbus donated 100 snack bags to hand out to families and Syntero, Inc. provided mental health resources.
The Dublin City School District got the word out to families about this opportunity. These Pop Ups are planned throughout the summer months at a variety of locations.
We are also partnering with the OhioHealth Athletic training program to provide healthy fruit and snacks for student athletes who are experiencing food insecurity at Dublin Scioto H.S., Davis Middle School and Sells Middle School.
Budget Cuts to Food & Nutrition Programs
The Dublin Food Pantry’s leadership and Board of Directors and our community partners are monitoring the cuts to food pantries and nutrition programs at the State and Federal levels (e.g., USDA, SNAP).
These funding cuts are already having an impact on the food and nutrition distribution system at every level necessitating action from all of us to continue to find ways to meet the growing needs in our community.
We have such a generous community, and we are grateful to everyone who has stepped up when we were low on essential food items recently. Thank you so much for your quick actions when we have announced urgent needs!

Period products are a basic necessity, yet they aren’t covered by benefits. One Dublin and the Dublin Food Pantry are proud to offer these items, but our shelves are running low.
Coming in May, join us in supporting the women in our community in need! We’re holding a donation drive to replenish our stock.
