Volunteer Appreciation Month

April is National Volunteer Appreciation Month and the Dublin Food Pantry (DFP) relies so much on the help, caring, and energy of our volunteers that we wouldn’t exist without them. Thank you to all the DFP volunteers for sharing your time, talent, voice and support to help empower thousands of individuals and families. Your stories serve to inspire others to take action.

The Dublin Food Pantry volunteers I spoke with embody the spirit of this quote from Helen Keller, “the unselfish effort to bring cheer to others will be the beginning of a happier life for ourselves.”

I asked, why volunteer with the Dublin Food Pantry? The answers included, feeling good about helping, feeling fulfilled, having fun and contributing on a team, and seeing directly the results of our efforts.

As for inspiration, one volunteer pointed out, “you only have to be very hungry one time to know what that feels like and being part of the solution is a good feeling.”

Often, the most important thank you our volunteers and donors do not hear is the thank-yous from thousands clients themselves, heartfelt.

Thank you to all of the Dublin Food Pantry Volunteers!
