The Cohn family has a long history of making a difference to address hunger in our community. Their recent donation to Dublin Food Pantry (DFP) will do just that. Shown here, DFP Executive Director Denise “Dinky” Youngsteadt-Parrish is accepting the check from Erin (Cohn) Miller, along with DFP Board Chair Lisa Patt McDaniel, Bob Cohn, and DFP Director of Operations Jim Wilson.
“We cannot thank the Cohn family enough! With so many unexpected impacts to the operation of our pantry in the last months – their kind donation is an inspiration,” said Dinky “and will help the pantry plan for pandemic related variables in the months ahead.”
Jayne and Bob Cohn raised their children Erin, Payton and Evan in Dublin and they now have now have four grandchildren that are Dubliners! Oldest daughter, Erin and her husband Andy Miller make their home here with daughters Sloane (a student at Glacier Ridge Elementary) and their toddler Blair. Daughter Payton and her husband Kenny Thompson, also call Dublin home along with their newborn daughter Spencer and three year old Scarlett.
The family focus on wellness and community carries over to a family business since Erin Miller and Kenny Thompson (in-laws) also own and operate Dublin’s Balanced Family Academy (BFA) on Perimeter Drive. A second location is coming soon on Innovation Drive. Learning, playing and being healthy are all cornerstones at the academy. The Academy has a focus on community with the BFA Gives Back program which invites families to make an impact with food drives and community service days.
Dublin Food Pantry works to connect people with nutritious food and essentials. Our service area of Dublin school district, tenth largest in Ohio, includes parts of Franklin, Delaware and Union counties, spanning parts of eight zip codes. This has been a difficult time for many families and seniors. Visits to the pantry have increased and DFP is working to deliver food to seniors who cannot access the pantry. Donations are crucial and make an immediate impact as we strive to continue to safely serve our community – even during a pandemic. Thank you to the Cohn family for their family commitment to fighting hunger and for their kind donation.
