Dublin Irish Festival 2021 is here!

Updated: Aug 24

The Dublin Irish Festival has begun! We missed it in 2020 and although this has been another year filled with uncertainty, the music, shopping, dancing, and more will continue as Dublin Irish Days. Events are in downtown Dublin and in Coffman Park from Wednesday, Aug. 4, through Sunday, Aug. 8.

Although the pantry's biggest fundraiser - the traditional "donation to DFP for free Festival entry on Sunday morning" is not in place this year - thankfully, the Festival remains committed to supporting the Pantry.

  • The Dublin Food Pantry has been selected as the charity of choice for the 2021 Dublin Irish Festival 5K presented by IGS Energy

  • Guests purchasing tickets to the Dublin Irish Days Concerts and the theater performance “The Irish… and How They Got That Way” may make donations to Dublin Food Pantry when purchasing tickets online.

  • And our Dublin Food Pantry Volunteers will be at the Irish Days Concert on Sunday in Coffman Park. *

Like most things in the pandemic impacted world, there are some changes from pre-pandemic Festival years, such as:

  • While our Dublin Food Pantry volunteers and van will be located at the Coffman Park Concert area on Sunday, a donation will NOT allow free entry. *

  • The 5K walk/run is offered as a virtual OR in-person option

  • There will not be a kids-dash in 2021

  • Please check out https://dublinohiousa.gov/covid-19-resource-hub/

THANK YOU!

Our team at Dublin Food Pantry is honored to be included in the 2021 Dublin Irish Festival Irish Days! The Dublin Irish Festival has been the Dublin Food Pantry’s largest donor. Nearly 150,000 pounds of food and $100,000 has been collected prior to the pandemic cancellations of 2020 and new approach in 2021. With the dramatic surge in need, our pantry is thankful for Dublin Irish Festival's support. SUNDAY SERVICES:

St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church 7121 Muirfield Dr. Aug. 8, 10 a.m. Outdoor service

About the Service This U2charist is a communion service using the music of U2 as the hymns. The band U2 is from Ireland, and their music is laced through with biblical and religious themes. U2 allows churches to use their music as long as all donations go to support the Millennium Development Goals. Donations for the Aug. 8 services will go to the Dublin Food Pantry.

AND

Three Cranes Online Aug. 1, 3 p.m. Virtual rite

About the Rite Three Cranes will virtually celebrate the Feast of Lughnasa. During this ritual, members of the Grove will share the story of the Irish god Lugh and his battle with the Beast of Blight. Since this is a virtual ceremony, monetary donations to the Dublin Food Pantry, rather than canned goods, will be encouraged during the ritual.

The Dublin Food Pantry connects people with nutritious food and essential personal care items. The pandemic has created an even greater number of people requiring services. Thank you to the City of Dublin, Dublin Irish Festival, IGS Energy - and all who donate on our behalf through these wonderful partnerships. Your on-going support makes a real difference #fillingheartsandcarts
