Dear Friends of the Dublin Food Pantry,
Sometimes it is hard to realize that you are witnessing something beautiful happening around you in the midst of a crisis, but our country and our community just experienced something tremendously heartwarming and meaningful. All of us became keenly aware that 42 million people (1 in 8 Americans) who experience food insecurity were about to lose their SNAP benefits, and there was a huge response of kind acts that followed. For the last few weeks, there was constant coverage about a topic most of us do not think about every day. The crisis gave us the opportunity to share our own Pantry story to a broader audience. It also gave so many of you a reason to take action by donating food, personal care products, and money for us to purchase food at lower prices. You have sent a message to those experiencing fear and anxiety that you care about them and their well-being. I hope that you know how impactful your action is to people who feel helpless.
Hunger became a unifying issue at a time of crisis and great uncertainty. You made, and are continuing to make, a difference for some of our most vulnerable residents of all ages.
We would like to express our gratitude, during the month when many of us give thanks at tables full of food with family and friends, for your acts of kindness. This newsletter is filled with some examples of how our community came together to serve those in need. Simply beautiful!
With gratitude-

Pilot Neighborhood Success
Thank you to the 3 neighborhoods that piloted our new Dublin Neighborhood Food Share Program on Saturday, November 8th. The participating neighborhoods included The Quarry, The Woods at Indian Run, and Belvedere.
Donations totaled 1,060 pounds of food for just one morning. We were especially grateful for the many young volunteers who helped pick up and deliver the donations that day.
We will be announcing the expansion of the program to new neighborhoods soon. Stay tuned!

Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers
We recently held three Volunteer Appreciation and Information Sessions in October. These gatherings gave us a wonderful opportunity to thank our volunteers and share updates on Pantry programs. We are grateful for the time and commitment you bring to our mission every day.
Thank You to Area Businesses
We are so grateful for the continued support of our local businesses. In recent weeks, we have received an outpouring of generosity that is making a meaningful difference for Dublin residents in need.
Jon from FitFresh generously donated pallets of fresh milk.

Smiley Dental and Legacy Dental donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss for our guests.

Several Dublin businesses hosted food drives, including Sunny Street Café on Hospital Drive, Andon’s Pub, Mt. Carmel Health System-Dublin, Weltman, Weinberg and Reis, Co., LPA, and Boho 72 Boutique.
BoHo57 Boutique also held a fundraiser to benefit the Pantry. Thank you to Sharon Stine, DFP Development Committee Member, for organizing it, and to Jaime Mollwitz, owner of the boutique, for donating 10% of the evening’s proceeds. We also appreciate everyone who donated food.

Thank you to the Sawmill Forest Spooky Trail for donating 1,923 lbs of food.
We are also grateful to the young people who collected food for the Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat.

Wendy’s recently held a Canstruction event, where associates built creative structures out of canned goods. After the competition, all cans were donated to the Pantry. We are grateful to the Wendy’s team and to Jim Bender, DFP Board Chair and VP of Global Customer Experience at Wendy’s, for their support.

And a very heartfelt thank you to PDS Planning for including the Pantry in their charitable 40th Anniversary Campaign. Because of community votes, we received a $10,000 donation to help feed even more Dublin families.

Coming Soon: Celebrating 50 Years
In 2026, we will kick off our 50th Anniversary Campaign that embodies the spirit of the Dublin Food Pantry. We look forward to celebrating five decades of service and community support.
