More Than Food. More Than 50 Years | January Newsletter

Dear Friends of the Pantry,

We will remember 2025 as a year when a government shutdown threatened to impact SNAP benefits for millions of Americans, including thousands of individuals, families, older adults, and children living in our Dublin service area. We will also remember the outpouring of kindness and generosity that followed.

During a time of great uncertainty for some of our most vulnerable neighbors who experience food insecurity, you took action. You showed up with care, compassion, and support, and you made it clear that this community truly cares about its neighbors and their families.

We watched as people of all ages came together to host food drives in schools, communities of faith, local businesses, and partner organizations. As a result, we experienced the highest volume of food and monetary donations in our history. Food was the first step, and because of you, families felt supported, seen, and not alone.

As we begin 2026 and celebrate our 50th year of serving the community, our hearts are full of gratitude. For five decades, families have arrived at the Pantry seeking food, and because of you, they continue to leave with more. More than a meal, they leave with dignity, stability, and the reassurance that their community cares.

The saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” feels especially true as we share photos of the many acts of kindness that filled 2025. These moments reflect who we are as a community. Let’s keep the kindness going. Our world needs more of this.

With gratitude,

As we head into 2026, the Dublin Food Pantry will be marking 50 years of serving our community. Throughout the year, we’ll be reflecting on what those five decades have meant for the neighbors we serve through our 50th anniversary campaign, More Than Food. More Than 50 Years.

For decades, families have come to the Pantry seeking food. But for many neighbors, it’s not just a meal. It can be the first step toward stability. When people have access to nourishing food, they also gain support, dignity, and the reassurance that they are not alone.

Mark your calendars! We will be celebrating 50 years of More Than Food at the Bounty at Bridge Park on September 20, 2026.

Neighbors Feeding Neighbors

Across Dublin, students of all ages are finding ways to support their neighbors and make a difference in In 2025, the Dublin Food Pantry launched the Neighborhood FoodShare Program, creating a simple and meaningful way for neighbors to support one another by sharing food and personal care items within their own communities. Several neighborhoods participated in the program during its first year, including Woods of Indian RunThe Quarry, and Belvedere.

Most recently, the Jerome Village Epon Community kicked off their Dublin Food Pantry Neighborhood FoodShare and made an incredible impact. In just five weeks, neighbors came together to collect 3,019 pounds of food and personal care items for families served by the Pantry.

We’re thankful for the care and generosity shown through this new program, and we look forward to sharing more as the Neighborhood FoodShare continues to grow in the months ahead.

Kids Helping Kids

Throughout 2025, we were inspired by the incredible generosity of young people across our community. From classrooms to schoolwide drives, children and students showed what it means to care for others and give back at a young age. Their involvement, including strong participation from Dublin City Schools, is a powerful reminder that compassion and community start early.

One recent example comes from Heart of Ohio Classical Academy, where students came together to collect food and hygiene items for the Dublin Food Pantry, donating a total of 281 pounds.

Community Partners in Action

Local businesses and community organizations have continued to show an outpouring of support for the Dublin Food Pantry.

We’re grateful to the Kiwanis Club of Dublin for their ongoing support of the Pantry. In addition to volunteering regularly, the club recently donated $250 to help support our mission.

For 16 years, the Sedona Grace Foundation has donated cat and dog food to the Dublin Food Pantry to support families experiencing food insecurity. To date, Sedona Grace has contributed an incredible 54,906 pounds of pet food.

When families are facing crisis, caring for a beloved pet can become one more source of stress. Thanks to Sedona Grace, families don’t have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their animals.
