What We Do!

The Dublin Food Pantry is a volunteer organization that is totally responsible for the operation of the Pantry! It is a choice pantry set-up like a grocery store so clients can shop and select the food they want. It takes approximately 150 volunteers each week to operate the Pantry and an additional 500+ volunteers to run the major food drives and the holiday Harvest of Hope food distribution. It is because of the efforts of our volunteers that the Pantry mission of making sure that our Dublin neighbors do not go hungry is realized!

How To Start

If you would like to volunteer please contact the appropriate Volunteer Coordinator listed below. All volunteers must be scheduled through a Volunteer Coordinator. A minimum of one week advance notice is needed to schedule volunteers. A Volunteer Coordinator will work with you to find an opportunity you enjoy. Thank you for you for volunteering at the Pantry!

The minimum age for volunteering is 16. On a case-by-case basis, younger children may volunteer in groups with adults or with adult supervision.

Below are some of the jobs that volunteers perform. We will work with groups that want to do a task together.

General Schedule

Below are some general times for volunteers working with a crew. Individuals working in small groups or alone are usually scheduled independently.

Thursday 11:00 am 01:00 pm Kitchen/stocking crew preps for and sets-up for open pantry.
Thursday 04:00 pm 07:00 pm Last minute pantry prep, registers and assists clients as they shop.
Friday 10:00 am 11:30 am Accept and stock meat delivery. Unload Mid-Ohio Food Bank delivery.
Friday 05:00 pm 07:00 pm Stock shelves including Mid-Ohio Food Bank delivery plus prep for next week.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. They assist kitchen and stocking crews, they assist clients unloading carts, they set-up for open pantry and help the crews with other, as needed, tasks. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to assist clients as they shop in the Pantry.
