The 2017 annual Harvest of Hope Thanksgiving dinner distribution was held Saturday, November 18th.
Each meal included all ingredients necessary for a complete Thanksgiving dinner which recipients could take home and prepare for themselves. Thanksgiving dinner items included turkey, stuffing, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce, potatoes, sweet potatoes or yams, apples/fruit, corn, green beans, onions, cornbread mix, and - of course - pie!
Client households registered for the dinner during the preceding weeks. The amount of food in each meal was based on household sizes of small, medium, or large and 188 households were served.
Much time, planning, and effort was spent in preparation. Shown in this photo album are some of the foods distributed, preparations of the Community Room (where ingredients were assembled/packaged/distributed), and volunteers transporting/packaging/assembling foods during the days preceding the actual food distribution.
